Orange and Blue Boy room

I think the navy is too dark for the walls... but I do like the idea of wide horizontal stripes for a boy room, and I love how Auburn the room feels, especially the pillow and lamp.

Those shelves behind the chair look off to me. Like what are they doig there? And i'm not crazy about orange curtains - seems cartoonish?

I like the idea of cubes near the crib for items you need - but the height is the same so it looks funny.... and I like the idea of stickers on the drawers - cute!

No.... one wall art decal is enough.
This room needs a lot of work... Too much with the paint, the decals, etc. I DO like the color scheme though!

Blue and Orange Again... but Whimsical - I like!

I like the wall decals and love hte bedding. I like how they made traditionally male colors much more gender netural and even feminine!

Cute toys - I believe they said these were the inspiration for the room.

Cutie, cute cute, simple and clean. The furniture is too traditional for my taste but I like the blue, burnt orange and white. Personally, I would only do one wall blue and leave the rest khaki (at most - or all khaki and do blue for the window treatments, sheets, rug and accents.

What do you think? Blue for a girl? Like the feminine twist on it?

A Playroom in Mustard

This room screams playroom to me - I don't know why. Love that mustard color with the white furniture, and normally I don't like a large entertainment center, but I think cabinets and cubbies with baskets would be smart for kids. Those cozy cubes look fun, too!

Simple & Sweet Room: The contemporary Watermelon

Yes- don't be alarmed but i'm posting yet another nursery I snagged for my sister. They're speaking to me with their clean, simple colors! I think it's because most people start from scratch on nurseries so therefore they all seem very together to me. Anyway - I love this color scheme of tan/melon with a hint of green!

Neat Light!

Gotta love organized Ikea shelves

I woud like some window treatments, but am loving the simple white, birch and melon - and that rug is cool!

Love the print on this bedding! Nice shot of the rug too!

Don't so much like how the light is hung over there.... i'm a little underwhelmed.
What do you think?

Cute Idea + Color Palette

I've been looking up nurseries for my sister, who is trying to have a baby and will be the best mom EVER! I'm so inspired by some of these nursuries. Take this one for instance - sky blue, burnt orange, cranberry and birch - LOVE! I also love the solid bedding with the neat pattern - and the birch painting on the wall is neat too.

Seating Area Inspiration Board

So I was stressing about what to do with the area between the kitchen and pool table. You may remember this post. Anyway, I’ve pretty much decided to do a lounge/seating area. I think we'll use it the most and can eat in there and hang out and we'll have a TV on the desk area - I just like it! I realize this means I’m forgoing any sit-down dining room deal, but honestly – we just don’t use it! And I guess if we have peeps over for dinner we’ll do what we did before – sit at the high table (I’m hoping to fit the high table in the pool table area with our bar stools at it. Anyway – here is the room – we LOVE IT! Click to make it larger.

What do you think? Here’s how much it will cost per my choices:

We already have the bench, end table and white platter. I also want my hurricane vase with sand/candle on the small iron table. But we need to buy the chairs ($280 for 2 including shipping) , the end table ($170), mushrooms ($32), pillow cover and insert ($37), green candle ($7), green apples ($10) and woven tray ($30) = $567. See any where I can cut corners? Or do you think this is a good price? Do you think the mushrooms are heinous? LOL I love them - they're our favorite food! And I think it makes sense because technically this area is in the kitchen so having apples and mushrooms ties in! :) (right?) Anyway, can't wait to see what you guys think!

Green Living Room - CUTE!

I think this room is absolutely adorable. Love the fabric on the love seat, love the greens/browns on it, I love the trunk and I think some of the items on the trunk are super cute (although I would do less), and I love the cozy feel it gives off. I'm thinking of doing tan/black/green in the basement with the pool table. Still thinking though... just don't think I want to do red in the basement. I think I want to do the main floor in chocolates/browns/reds and do the basement in chocolates/blacks/greens... would LOVE to do the orange color in the basement but we have black felt on the table - too Halloween - so i'm thinking green! What do you think?

Oooh Another Favorite Color Scheme

Um.... I'm LOVING the darkish brown couch, the choclate accents and the pop of pumpkin orange! I think it's so classic and clean, but fun and casual. I would do without the yellow daisies (random) but I love the lamp to the left, the small side table on the right, the coffee table, etc. I'm also not crazy about the super rustic accents - but what are you going to do? I may steal this!! For maybe the guest room bath rooms!

Loving the Color Scheme

So i'm thinking about rentals now. And so many rentals we've come across have a lot of white accents like those above. We're not really big on white accents, but I think it looks super charming and even chic when combined with this toasty brownish color. I think the contrast is really pretty and could see this color scheme coming in MUCHO handy in, say, an office, den or living room. What do you think? I'd even be okay if it was lighter...
